2016 Baseball Tour – Lake County Captains vs. Great Lakes Loons (6/24/2016)

Meanwhile, in single A ball (still)…

I’m still doing the baseball tour even though the drum corps season is about to kick off. This time, I’m in Eastlake, Ohio, and I’m checking out the Lake County Captains, the Single A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, as they take on the Great Lakes Loons. Mud Hens, Beach Bums, Loons…You can’t say that minor league teams have an issue with team identity.

If you’d like to join me at the game, let me know in the comments section below. Minor league games are fun to attend and are very affordable compared to major league teams like the Indians. I’ll also be posting some of Mr photos on social media so be sure to friends and follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Foursquare, and Flickr.

2016 Baseball Tour – Mahoning Valley Scrappers vs. Batavia Muckdogs (6/27/2016)

Aaand it’s back to single A ball, this time short season. Hey, I didn’t say I was going in order of league.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers’ season is about to start as I write this. When I go to the game on the 27th, they’ll have played for just over a week. One of the great things about the lower level minor league teams is how intimate and community based their stadiums are. You can tell that going to a Scrappers game is something which Youngstown area families love to do. Of course, I’m going by myself, but I still enjoy the charm.

2016 Baseball Tour – Columbus Clippers vs. Rochester Red Wings (6/20/2016)

I’m not a Red Wings stalker, I swear…

I get back to the Cleveland Indians minor league affiliates and head down to Columbus to catch the Clippers in action. Huntington Park is an incredibly beautiful stadium and was quite the experience when I went down there last year for my first ever Clippers game. I had been to Cooper Stadium, the Clippers former home, in the past, but always to march drum corps, never for baseball. It’s also Dime-a-Dog night at the game so I’ll try not to overdo it on the hot dogs, at least not too much.
