DCP/DCW COVERAGE – 2018 Soaring Sounds

The 2018 Gadget Drum Corps Tour goes into full swing as we begin the final weeks of the season. I return to Southwest Ohio for the 2018 Drum Corps International Soaring Sounds! It all takes place at the Centerville Elks Football Stadium on the campus of Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, this Monday, July 30th! The fun begins at 7:00pm with Cincinnati Tradition performing at 7:10pm. I will be in the stands to provide my LIVE coverage of the show, featuring:

2011 Three Rivers Summer Music Games Review

I almost didn’t get my first live drum corps fix on Thursday night. The weather had been schizophrenic all day, alternating between significant rainfall and sunny skies. The weather report for Pittsburgh was not promising, either, as the radar showed possible storms hitting Baldwin High School’s Highlander Stadium at some point during the night’s performances. Fortunately, while there was a minor sprinkle during intermission, the show went off without a hitch, and the five corps were able to perform their full shows. Two of those corps, the Glassmen and the Boston Crusaders, were making their 2011 competitive debut at this show, so it was a great chance for me to get a first read on both of their shows, especially since I would see Glassmen again on Saturday at the DCI Western Michigan major show. Next week, I’ll get my first taste of live, in my face, outdoor drum corps as I’ll be traveling to Pittsburgh to take in the Three Rivers Summer Music Games. The show begins at 7PM and features five World Class DCI corps:
