Betty Ireland For Governor

I am pleased to announce that my wife’s aunt, Betty Ireland, is running for governor of the state of West Virginia in 2011. The state is holding a special election this year as the previous governor, Joe Manchin, vacated the office when he filled the U.S. Senate seat left empty by the passing of Sen. Robert Byrd. Betty has already distinguished herself as a public servant, holding the office of West Virginia Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009. Betty was the first female elected to an executive position in the West Virginia state government and, should she win the gubernatorial election, will be the first female governor in West Virginia history.
